Open positions, project opportunities, and how to apply to MESH|Lab.
MESH|Lab takes on collaborators in three shapes: PhD candidates, MSc projects, and engineering / clinical-fellow positions tied to specific funded projects.
Currently open
No formally posted positions at the moment.
We do open positions in response to funded calls (NIH-equivalent grants, MSCA fellowships, EU networks) — when one opens, it is posted on the OUS career portal, and we link it here.
Self-initiated proposals
If your background fits one of the research themes and you would like to propose a project, write to rafael.palomar@ous-research.no with:
- a one-page sketch of the project you have in mind,
- your CV,
- and a sentence on why MESH|Lab is the right host (we look for a concrete clinical or methodological connection, not generic fit).
MSc students at OUS-affiliated programmes can reach out directly with a thesis topic; visiting researchers from partner institutions (see Projects for the active partnerships) are welcome to discuss a stay.
What we look for
- Engineering rigour. Most of our work ends up running near patients; we cannot afford to ship code that has not been tested against the workflows it will be used in.
- Clinical curiosity. Even on the engineering side of the lab, we expect everyone to understand the clinical problem they are working on — not just the API.
- Open-source instinct. Most of our software releases are open-source and we maintain them after publication.
